Short-Sleeve Empire Waist

Off the needles: Over the spring I finished a short-sleeved top for myself and I am pleased with how it turned out. This sweater has a little empire waist and a ruffled neck line knit in stockinette stitch. Of all the sweaters I have made for myself, they have all been bulky and long sleeved, as well as knit in multiple pieces, so this was a whole new adventure for me.  The pattern was knit from the top down in the round, which made it incredibly simple and a very fast knit. The pattern is from a book I got for my birthday with many top-down knitting patterns. It is called "Custom Knits" by Wendy Bernard. There are so many cute patterns in it, I can't wait to make more cute, stylish, easy sweaters from this book for myself. The yarn is a hand dyed 100% organic cotton from Tahki Yarns and I used size 6 circular needles (a set of Knit Picks harmony wood needs which by the way are amazing to knit with).
